This is a Warmaster Johan (tm) Announcement.
Please be seated and listen attentively to the entirety of the announcement.
Please keep all tentacles inside the announcement at all times.
Oh yeah baby. Just like that.
Squids. Robots. Shark. Applicants.
Due to recent events, I, in my infinite greatness, have decided to solidly outline the behavioral expectations I expect of you, the difference between IC and OOC and the shafting you will receive if you disobey.
We are an easy-going clan, all told. Sure, the OP and such say not to build on land, but we do it all the time, you're most welcome to your own views and projects. But I will accept absolutely no insolence toward myself or anyone else from anyone calling themselves a squid.
I want t make it ABUNDANTLY clear what i mean by this, so that anyone breaking my trust can be easily excised form the clan. Ignorance is not an option.
Section the first
IC and OOC
IC or "In Character" is like how you act as a squid, we don't like "landies", generally act largely Superior to everyone and demand tribute from lesser beings for so much as a conversation with one of our number.
OOC or "Out of character" is how you act as a player, it is vital you understand the difference, as I will accept absolutely no rudeness as a player. I want helpful, respectful and intelligent people.
As squids, we might run around and talk about how much cooler we are than other clans, about how disgustingly insipid the hairy, sagging flesh that sits on their misshapen bones is. As players, we would just as soon turn to those same people and offer to show them how to craft something, or how to get somewhere. Our abrasive squid attitude is all in good fun, and in my experience, people enjoy it as long as you're nice enough when not wearing that attitude, which would be most of the time. Anyone who doesn't understand this can just pack up and go home right now.
Section the second
What the Warmaster expects
Do:
- Show respect to all other players and clans, regardless of their buffoonery or intellect
- playfully refer to them all as disgusting meatsacks
- know when to just shut your mouth and let people handle the drama
- help new players in any way you can, be it showing them an area they might build, or giving them stuff
- have the presence of mind to just ignore people trying to rile you
- for goodness sake, if you're heading to the secret base, make sure no-one is following you
Do not:
- Get into arguments with anyone, it makes all involved look like dicks
- steal
- take an 'an eye for an eye' sort of approach to damage to your stuff
- accuse others of griefing or theft without SCREEN-SHOTS <- I cannot call enough attention to this
- be rude
- drop the F-bomb. It does not make you cool.
- offer people membership unless you're 90% sure they are intelligent people
In short, just be respectful, take getting thieved or griefed with some poise and make sure to take screen-shots if you're going to accuse anyone of anything.
Section the third
What I'll do if you disappoint me
If you're not following the above guidelines, I'll warn you, kick you or ban you, depending on what you're doing
If you ARE kicked out, heaven forbid, I wholly expect you to take any 'secret' knowledge like base locations and tactics to the grave, show a final bit of tact and prove to us that we have erred.
If you're applying for the squids append "I like cheese" to the end of your application to show you've read and understand this rant.
I know.
